Lead overall day-to-day operations, creative and strategic planning, development and direction for a multifaceted television/film, entertainment/events production company specializing in global, interagency, cross promotions and strategic alliances, comprehensive multi-media medium marketing strategies and branding initiatives, with rapidly fluctuating staff levels that required adept and effective human/materials resource management.

Exceptional coordination and collaboration skills, inclusive communication and interaction, resulted in business-development, successful implementation of strategic vision and accomplishment of objectives. Compiled written recaps of major corporate strategies, performance review results and expense controls; as well as continuously building solid teams and developing key personnel through mentoring and internships.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Exemplary efforts and historic results in entertainment/political arenas and private/public sectors led to Proclamation of June 4 as official “MASINI DAY” throughout the state by Hawaii’s Governor Cayetano.
  • Credited by Governor of Hawaii with almost single-handedly increasing state’s TV and film production by 200% in 5 years.
  • Initiated and closed the first-of-it’s-kind, multimillion-dollar private sector/studio/State of Hawaii, film financing deal with Universal Studios through the utilization of newly drafted legislation.
    • Gained commendations for leveraging the transaction to pioneer the first-of-its-kind, interagency cross-promotion between a studio and the location in which a film had been shot.
  • Made international headlines and employed exemplary leadership, tenacity and persuasive ability, under high pressure, to obtain relocation of Baywatch production series from California to Hawaii--after contract to relocate to Australia had been inked.
  • Co-chair and Producer of The Hawaii Governor’s Inaugural Gala.
  • Co-wrote/produced the nationally televised, weekly talent competition Destination Stardom.
  • Secured/Co-chaired/Coordinated and Produced (for Hawaii) the 1998 Miss Universe Pageant, delivering tens of millions in marketing, advertising and promotional exposure, across 85 countries, valued in excess of $53 million, from a $3 million investment.
  • Nicknamed “The new millennium’s Dear Abby,” by the media.
  • In less than a year, AskApril.com, April’s dating and relationship online magazine, has become one of the most heavily trafficked dating and relationship websites in the world. In fact, it was April’s initial “for men only” seminar (which sold out in under two hours) that prompted her to write her now best-selling book Date Out of Your League, along with her, just released, dating book for woman, Think & Date Like A Man.
  • Highly sought after by the media, April has had over 2300 national and international articles and opinion pieces, radio and television shows for such notable organizations as CBS, FOX, ABC, NBC, CNN, MSN, Lifetime, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, New York Daily News, Newsday, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Forbes, Cosmopolitan, Maxim, Men's Health, Wired, AOL, WebMD, and Yahoo! and that’s just the tip of the iceberg...
